So we were kicked off the ship at 8:30 am.
Check in time at the hotel was 3:00 pm.
I had messaged the hotel the day before pleading for an early check in but they said probably not.
But when we arrived around 9:15 - our room was ready! That surely beat hanging out in the lobby for 6 hours!
The hotel is really cute. It’s in the Hilton portfolio - Ritus Hotel Istanbul Sultanahmet Tapestry Collection. It’s relatively new and a small hotel. A local artisan painted all of the artwork specifically for the hotel
We went out for dinner to rush hour traffic. Oh did I mention the traffic and driving are INSANE!!
After dinner we sat in front of the hotel and watched the traffic - for example in front of the hotel there is a lane (street) that is only wide enough for 1 car - but traffic goes both directions with a street intersecting. So we watched cars back up the street so another car could go a different direction so many times!
We have our full day private tour tomorrow. So we are getting prepared!
