Today was our stop in Thessaloniki - We - along with half the cruise ship - took a Hop on Hop Off bus tour.
The tour was just average as most of things were no longer standing. However, we did see a ton of sketchy electrical lines.
The waterfront was really lovely - big park areas and walkways along the edge.
This island was named after Alexander the Great’s half sister. There is a statue of Alexander on his horse - Bucephalus - and it’s the tallest equestrian statue in Greece.
When we ditched the Hop On Hop Off bus we went to the Archeological Museum - The craftwork from all those years ago was amazing.
This was one of the more interesting things. Below is a deed to a house. There were several examples of this type of thing. It wasn’t something that you tucked into your desk. It - in our opinion- had to be placed somewhere prominent to tell the world they owned this as it was about as tall as we are!
We sail into Istanbul tomorrow.
One of our fellow passengers snapped this pic around 3 am crossing under the Canakkale bridge.
Which by the way is close to the lost city of Troy.
