Boy- we had a lonnngggg travel day. Left at 11:17 am on Wednesday and arrived at our hotel - Hotel Forum - Thursdays at 11:55 pm.
We dealt with flights being cancelled, scrambling to Philly (an added flight), to sitting at Heathrow for 6 hours, and almost missing the final flight of the day to Naples!
Heathrow chose not to post what gate our Naples flight was at - so after waiting in the customer service line - we are told the gate. Which is 10-15 minutes away and flight leaves in 15 min. So off we rush to the tram and find dozens of other people in the same boat. We made the plane but took off an hour late.
Our flight was just fine. For in flight meal I Actually tried Lamb - not bad at all
Our driver met us and whisked us away to begin our Italian adventure!
Our hotel is quite lovely - a boutique little place with citrus trees and grape vines everywhere
So sleep came quickly and we awoke too late to rush to our guided tour of Pompeii - we chose to wake leisurely, have breakfast, and bask in the Italian morning.
Speaking of breakfast - mana from the heavens
Since we missed the tour and have 3 hours till our driver arrives - we are just going to do Pompeii on our own!
